Ramayana: The Thread of Luminance Book 6 War Part 2 continues in this the fourthissue GARUDA'S TALONS AT RAMYAN.NET and FACEBOOK along with all previous parts of RAMAYANA: THE THREAD OF LUMINANCE BOOKS 1 - 6 Part 1 and the first three issues of this new Book.
IN THE STUDIO & CRASH COURSE RAMAYANA
In the mean time I've been enjoying a new podcast series that has begun on the BBC World Service called In the Studio - the series visits and interviews creatives in their work places from tutors such as Booker Prize winner author Marlon James, comic book artist Frank Quietly and ice skaters Eric Radford & Meagan Duhamel (interesting choices I think you'd agree). All 25 episodes are available on the BBC World Service Website.
Also quite unexpectedly, though always promised, is Crash Course mythology which in its latest episode looks at the RAMAYANA; it truncates the story at the beginning (leaving out some important characters and events) but the interesting topic comes as host Mike Rugetta discusses that Rama may not be the sole hero of the epic. Starting here he considers that Rama my not be the only hero of the Ramayana and looks at the heroism of Sita and Hanuman. Whilst Rama exhibits the masculine determinism of JC Heroes Journey, in the larger Hindu context it is Sita, whose virtue to her husband and resistance to Ravana's amorous intentions and constant refusal to succumb to his advances, who is determined by scholars as being heroic.
In my 'studio' I've been so busy with my project Ramayana: The Thread of Luminance as it comes towards its conclusion that I've forgotten to notice the local weather - supposedly the rainy season in South and South East Asia is meant to come to an end, but with news of flooding in India and Texas and the devastation of hurricanes in the Caribbean it seems thar there is to be no let up in extreme weather putting paid to the term 'unusual weather patterns' - unexpected extremes are the new normal.
A friend returns to the battle alongside the VANARA and our HEROES in WAR PART 2 ISSUE 5: THE 7th WARRIOR
