A VISITOR FROM ABROAD.
A VISITOR FROM ABROAD.
During the last two weeks I have been fortunate in meeting Melbourne comics personality Bernard Celeo who was visiting Phnom Penh where I am currently based.
It was great finding out about the Australian comics scene centred in Melbourne. I met Bernard twice and discussed politics, travelling and illustrative arts with him and fellow artist John Weeks. I enjoyed the showing of the 2012 documentary Bernard made in collaboration with filmmaker Daniel Hayward called "Graphic Novels! Melbourne!" focussing on the long-form comics - an opportunity to put faces to the many different styles of Antipodean creatives.
I had great time!
A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO MY PATRONS
Again your support has been amazing - breaking the second goal so I can spend even more of these emails to you. The next goal will take some work - it's to help pay for development of a printed edition, buying ISBNs and hiring talent (book designers, printed dummies etc) - so I still need you to tell your friends and family and drum up support!
On that subject of money it's great to finally earn something for my work, not only does Patreon allow me to do this, but it also develops and expands my relationships with like minded creators and fans.
If any of you are looking to earn a little extra income from the work that you love doing and connect with supporters. I wholly recommend you check out Patreon.
A CHANGE IN THE FREQUENCY OF FUTURE ISSUES
As Book 1 comes to a dramatic end, posing more questions than answers, you'll have to patient for BOOK 2: FOREST ISSUE 1. I'll be taking some time out to work on the refreshing of my website, where I will uploading the entirety of Book 1 for everyone and creating the new platform that will host my epic. This means that from now on Issues 5 - 50 will appear once a month to pace out the excitement.
Remember your support, even if is just reading and commenting on my work, will enable me to dedicate my time and effort to completing what has become a life time's work: Ramayana: The Thread of Luminance.

AN UNEXPECTED APPEARANCE OF A WHITE VANARA.
2016 is well under way. Wherever you are, follow this amazing adventure as it unfolds.
Things change pace in the second issue of Ramayana: The Thread of Luminance as our heroes Rama and Laksman join Sita for a demonstration. A demonstration against the government of Ayodhya, but unbeknown to them and the students they are watched over by a unusual being: a White Vanara.
I am half way through the FIRST BOOK:AYODHYA (only 4 issues) before tackling books 2-7.
I would like to thank those who have already backed this upcoming second issue on PATREON, they are listed on back cover and have helped me achieve my first funding goal. So I am feeling generous and proud to announce that I'll be giving away a 4 page pdf entitled 'Script to Sketch', a demonstration of my process taking a page from the second issue and showing simply how I take the dialogue and simple sketch to a fully coloured comic page.
In keeping with the concept of Heroes and their momentous journey a recent TEDX Radio Hour covered the theme of HEROES JOURNEY, not just covering fiction, but also such 'real' heroes such as George Takeo and Ellen McArthur.
On a personal note, I have recently finished the excellent 'Neuro-Tribes' by Stephen Silberman, a thought provoking history of attitudes towards people with Aspergers syndrome

Ayodhya is a country in a fast developing region which is having trouble adjusting to the rapid changes brought by technology and globalisation. Three populations: Falan, Vanara and Raksasa are ruled over by an unstable and corrupt government. Everybody is in awe and fear of the Ancient Monarchy which uses its power and influence to ransack and extort the wealth of the land at the expense of the majority of the population.Read More

I am delighted to announce my project Ramayana: The Thread of Luminance is back on!
I am an artist, writer and creator looking to bring the timeless story of the Ramayana to a global audience and after 8 years of research and personal sacrifices your support would help me achieve this.
Starting in January 2016 I will begin to release the first issue of Book 1, AYODHYA, followed in subsequent months with further books, divided into issues. I have plotted 1200 pages into 50 separate issues which will span a 7 Book interpretation of this Asian epic.
My work is a contemporary re-telling of the story, set in a modern metropolis in an Asian country different, but recognizable to today’s rapidly evolving Asian cities.
Along with familiar themes in the original story of Rama’s quest, with the help of his brother and Hanuman, to rescue Sita from Ravana’s clutches, my story mirrors the mass consumerism that is a consequences of rapid globalization as well as celebrating the recent pro-democracy demonstrations in Asia.
I have worked tirelessly in recent months writing the script and making a start on artwork. Issue 1 is complete and Issues 2-4 are inked with only coloring to do. Other issues will be completed throughout the coming year.
Your support will enable me to dedicate my time and effort to completing what has become a life time's work: The Ramayana: The Thread of Luminance.
