Ramakien on the Streets of Europe


This summer the Thai ministry of Arts and Culture has taken Thai traditional arts and culture tfor a month-long caravan of festivities, it ends on the streets of the Belgian City of Antwerp according to the English language Bangkok Post ,

 slowly made its way through Portugal, Spain, Austria, Germany and Belgium. Performers are comprised of 32 staff from the Department of Fine Arts and a team of Thai-fined art demonstrators who are from the Foundation of the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand. 

Focusing on the Thai interpretation of the Ramayana; The Ramakien รามเกียรติ์, and the Khon dance that it inspired where performer dress up in costume and re-enact scenes from the epic adventure of Rama and Hanuaman (in white)
